Zan-Mynd
zan-MIND
The residual image.
残 Zan — Japanese, “afterimage, persistence of vision”+Mynd — Old Norse, “image, picture”
An attraction flipbook engine — photo-op capture, sequencing, and delivery built for the ride exit, not a photo booth kiosk bolted on after the fact.
The name is not just wordplay: the underlying spec already calls this a physical memory-book generation pipeline — Zan-Mynd just says the same thing in the portfolio's own naming language.
What’s inside
Frame decimation
Continuous high-FPS video sampled down to mechanical thumb-flip persistence thresholds (12–15 fps)
Sample rule: every ⌊FPSₛ / FPSₜ⌉ frames — deterministic, not a rough eyeball crop
Physical assembly
Single-pass guillotine imposition matrix: Sheet(k) = k mod S, Cell(k) = ⌊k / S⌋ — frames ordered depth-wise across sheets, not left-to-right across the page
Once printed and cut, stacking the sheets in order produces a fully assembled flipbook — no manual collating step
Mechanical binding-offset allowance reserved on the turning spine margin
